For professionals · Christmas light installers
Stay connected to the lighting you install.
Unity Lighting gives Christmas light installers and permanent lighting professionals a shared workspace for compatible installations. Organize customer properties, inspect controller status, manage looks and schedules, and support the customer after handover. It focuses on installed-lighting control and support.
Find the installation before changing the lights
A portfolio view helps you move between customer properties. Within a property, inspect the relevant controller, its last contact and the state it reported. Clear names make a support call easier to follow and reduce the chance of adjusting the wrong installation.
Use property access and supported support workflows to decide who can manage the installation. A homeowner should understand which account they use, which property they can see and how to reach support.
Make handover part of the installation
Demonstrate one everyday preset and one seasonal look. Show the customer how to preview a change, apply it and verify the result. Walk through the schedule, the property’s time zone and where to check connection status.
A useful handover leaves the customer with a repeatable routine, not a list of unexplained effect names. Custom palettes and saved combinations help you retain the look you agreed on, subject to the controller’s firmware capabilities.
- Verify hardware and firmware compatibility before promising features.
- Label the property and controllers in customer-friendly language.
- Confirm customer access and explain the support path.
- Test a preset and a schedule with the customer present.
- Record maintenance responsibility and the installed equipment.
Give support a useful starting point
Unity’s friendly error messages include copyable details and, when available, a support reference. Users can submit a ticket in the interface and follow replies and resolution updates. Platform administrators can inspect the ticket context and related request evidence.
Connection state, command confirmation and visual output are different pieces of evidence. A controller being online does not by itself prove a requested look appeared. Use the reported state and the customer’s observation together.
Choose software for the job you need it to do
Quoting, roofline measurement, crew routing, inventory and installed-lighting control are different needs. If you already use estimating or field-service software, evaluate Unity for managing compatible lighting after installation. Confirm your required workflow instead of assuming that every tool described as Christmas lighting software does the same job.
Common questions
Is this software for running a Christmas light installation business?
Unity’s verified capabilities cover properties, compatible lighting controllers, presets, schedules, access and support. Evaluate separate estimating, invoicing or crew-management requirements with the tools you use for those jobs.
Can I manage multiple customer properties?
Unity provides installer portfolio and device-fleet views for properties available to the installer account. Account permissions and configured limits determine what you can access.
Can a homeowner use the system after installation?
Unity includes a homeowner workspace. Confirm the customer’s account and property access, then demonstrate the controls and support process during handover.
