Unity Lighting offers hardware that runs a proprietary build of WLED designed specifically for the Unity application. It connects compatible residential landscape and Christmas lighting to a web-based control experience and gives installers a way to manage fleets of installations.
Choose the controller and application together
A lighting system includes more than the visible LEDs. The controller, firmware, power equipment, lighting layout and software all contribute to the experience. Unity hardware is designed around the Unity application rather than a promise of universal support for every device labeled WLED.
Before choosing equipment, describe the areas you want to control, the lighting you already own and the looks you want to create. For an installer, include the number of customer properties and the handover and support workflow you need.
A familiar foundation, adapted for Unity
WLED is the foundation for the proprietary software build used by Unity hardware. The exact firmware and its connection to the application matter. Do not assume that an unmodified WLED controller or another manufacturer’s firmware has the same Unity integration.
Confirm supported features for the specific hardware and firmware offered. This includes everyday color control, effects, custom palettes, schedules, state reporting and how updates are handled.
